2010 Hal Burdick Memorial Rabbit Hunt

Please join us in Craig on Jan 30th and 31st 2010 for the rabbit hunt. If you are planning on attending, I need a head count for the lunch that I'm making for Sat. I’ll also need to provide a room list to the hotel to get the best room rates for all of the out of towners. Please contact me by the 15th of Jan at:

cocamper-lover@hotmail.com
or by phone
970-824-2070 or 970-629-5247

I have made arrangements with Holiday Inn for the people who need a motel room, yes, it does have a hot tub. When you book your room make sure to mention CTAS and you will get your room for 89.00 a night. Their phone number is 970-824-4000. We will meet at the Castle Ranch Steakhouse at 7:00am Sat. for breakfast, which is also located in the Holiday Inn. The breakfast is going to be a buffet for $8.95 plus tax each. I will be giving out the directions to where we will be going Rabbit hunting during breakfast.

Please remember to have your new SMALL GAME LICENSE!!!!

You may also want to bring rubber gloves and large zip-lock baggies and maybe a cooler to keep your rabbits in. Stay safe and have a healthy holiday season. I look forward to see-ing you at the Rabbit Hunt and the Banquet.

2009 Hal Burdick Memorial Rabbit Hunt

Well, as many of you know the rabbit population in the Craig area as well as most of the State is at the bottom of the cycle. Itʼs just amazing to witness this natural event. Last year we had a wonderful hunt, there were lots of rabbits. This year if we saw a rabbit we celebrated.  But donʼtworry, we didnʼt remove the remaining population. It seems that those that were left were just too darn smart for us. Oh well, just another chance to get together and swap stories, true and false.

We met at the local Village Inn for breakfast, got directions to the hunt area and headed out

As in most years the scenery is great. Lots of deer and elk to watch with coyotes singing in the background.

These, so we reverted to a few targets wisely provided from the High Country Shoot inventory.
